Impact Surace will miss his second consecutive game Saturday as he continues to deal with an undisclosed injury. He was not expected to play much if at all versus the Zips, but his injury still hurts the Knights' depth at the position. His next chance to suit up is Sept. 21 at Virginia Tech.

Impact Fletcher scored the first touchdown of his career on a play-action pass for a walk-in three-yard score early in the fourth quarter. The converted defensive end's debut at his new position provides some encouragement, as it looks like he's already secured the TE1 role for Rutgers. Yet, Fletcher's overall fantasy relevance will be tied to his potential as a big-bodied red-zone threat, as the team is once again expected to utilize a very run-heavy offense this season.

Impact Fletcher caught the first passing touchdown of the season from Minnesota transfer Athan Kaliakmanis with a two-yard completion in the first half. The 5-foot-11 wideout, who transferred from FCS Monmouth this offseason, also led his new team in targets ahead of tight end Kenny Fletcher (four). Kaliakmanis also completed passes to eight different receivers during his Rutgers debut, in which he went 15-for-24 for 147 yards. With the Scarlet Knights expected to employ a very run-heavy scheme it's likely that Miller's season-long fantasy production will be tied to whether he can find the end zone week-to-week.

Impact Raymond took care of mop-up duties for the Scarlet Knights late in the game. The freshman running back took over after standout starter Kyle Monangai and primary backup Samuel Brown both finished their days with 165 and 68 rushing yards, respectively. Raymond could see some action once again if the Scarlet Knights roll to a similar blowout win against Akron in Week 2.

With the Scarlet Knights slated to employ a very run-heavy offense this season, Brown should get a solid number of carries and scoring opportunities moving forward. Though, unless Monangai misses time with injury at any point, Brown likely won't see enough consistent usage to warrant significant fantasy attention moving forward.

Beginning from September, the senior should be able to catch quarterback passes during Rutgers games. 2023 was Dremel's breakout year, in which he logged 36 receptions for 468 yards and three touchdowns. The senior wideout will try to prove his junior campaign was not a fluke in spite of recording less than triple-digit yardage without any touchdowns between 2020 and 2022.

Impact Kaliakmanis didn't have a tough task leading his new team to a win in his Rutgers debut. The Minnesota transfer matched his career-high for passing touchdowns in a game, and he continued to factor into the running game. However, his lackluster 6.1 yards per attempt is a telling sign that his statistical ceiling will still be capped in this offense. It's also unlikely that he'll get too many opportunities to rush for touchdowns in the red zone, as the Scarlet Knights are loaded at running back with Kyle Monangai and co. Therefore, fantasy owners shouldn't expect Kaliakmanis to register many explosive fantasy performances week-to-week moving forward.

Impact Monangai and the Scarlet Knights had their way against the Howard defense, tallying 329 team rushing yards on 46 total carries. The senior and reigning Big Ten rushing leader ended his night early in the third quarter with a seven-yard rushing touchdown that put Rutgers up 24-7, and he finished with 8.7 yards per carry himself and tied his career high for rushing yards from last year against Temple. With a deep room of running backs, Monangai likely won't get too much usage in any blowouts for the Scarlet Knights going forward.
