Great game in return Locklear went 28-for-33 for 327 yards and four touchdowns against KSU on Saturday. He also ran eight times for 30 yards, but lost a fumble.

Impact Locklear missed UTEP's last game with a concussion, but he returned in style. Now, this game did go into double overtime, but this is the former APSU player's first game with multiple passing touchdowns, and he was clearly efficient.

Impact Locklear left the Miners' Week 9 clash with Louisiana Tech after throwing for 76 yards and a touchdown. He's now been deemed a true game-time decision for UTEP's Week 10 contest. If he can't go, expect JP Pickles to take his place at gunslinger.

Impact Locklear, who came with head coach Scotty Walden from Austin Peay, was the starter when the season began. Locklear may be back atop the depth chart, not that it matters a ton.

Impact Locklear has struggled this season, tossing for 710 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions through three and a half games. He was replaced by McConnell at halftime last week, and he may have just lost the job indefinitely. Before getting benched against Colorado State, he was 7-of-15 for 56 yards and an interception. He'll now ride the bench for the Miners for the foreseeable future.

Could be out as starter Locklear went 7-for-15 for 56 yards and an interception against Colorado State on Saturday and was replaced by Cade McConnell at quarterback at the half.

Impact Locklear was a Scotty Walden recruit at Austin Peay, and followed him head coach to UTEP. He was given the first shot to start for the revamped Miners, but on the year he has 710 passing yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions. McConnell took over as UTEP's starter last season. Maybe he's a steadier hand for the team.

Throws TD, two INTs Locklear went 26-for-43 for 244 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against Liberty on Saturday. He also ran for 20 yards on 13 rushes.

Impact Locklear is in his first year as a starter, and his first year as an FBS quarterback. It hasn't always been easy. He's thrown three picks and he has fumbled twice, though he hasn't lost one yet. Still, head coach Scotty Walden recruited him to Austin Peay and brought him along, and Locklear has a touchdown in every game. This is a transitional year, and Locklear will likely get the chance to earn vital game reps in preparation for 2025.

Impact While the UTEP offense hasn't gotten humming, Locklear has proven viable as a starting quarterback. He hasn't been dynamic by any means, but he's keeping the offense moving and as a brand-new starter, he has room to grow.

First start a mixed bag Locklear went 11-for-17 for 115 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against Nebraska on Saturday. He also ran four times for 15 yards.

Impact Locklear followed Scotty Walden from Austin Peay, and Walden installed him as starting quarterback for his first game in charge at UTEP. This was not likely to be an easy matchup, especially for a first-time starter, and it wasn't. Locklear faces Southern Utah next. That game should tell us a bit more.
