He'll now ride the bench for the Miners for the foreseeable future.

Impact Locklear was a Scotty Walden recruit at Austin Peay, and followed him head coach to UTEP. This is a transitional year, and Locklear will likely get the chance to earn vital game reps in preparation for 2025.

This was not likely to be an easy matchup, especially for a first-time starter, and it wasn't. Locklear faces Southern Utah next. That game should tell us a bit more.
