Impact The 6-foot-3 quarterback continued his lackluster start to the season during the team's loss to Florida. Fortin failed to top 100 passing yards for the second week in a row and is completing just 50 percent of his passes on the year. He was benched after the first half and has still yet to find the end zone this season. Fortin will try and muster his first good appearance of the season next week against Florida A&M.

Impact The junior receiver was the only position player to do any significant damage against NC state with his 73 receiving yards. Weaver only had 10 receptions in six games last year, so it is encouraging to see him being utilized early in the new year. The 6-foot-1 receiver will look to establish himself as a legit option in the Bulls' offense as the season progresses.

Brian Battie - Struggles on the ground Battie had five rushing attempts for eight yards against NC State.

Impact After averaging 7.2 yards per carry as a true freshman last year, Battie struggled to get anything going on the ground with his limited opportunities. The sophomore ran the ball just five times while averaging just 1.6 yards per carry. Battie ended last season on a strong note and still looks to be the Bulls leading rusher, but it was not an encouraging start to the year for the running back.

Impact After winning the starting quarterback job over the offseason, Fortin's first start of the year went extremely poorly. The junior only completed seven of his 20 pass attempts for a measly 41 yards and got pulled early in the game as well to give true freshman Timmy McClain some looks as well. Fortin would return to the game but failed to muster any offense and now will be looking to improve upon a lackluster start to the season next week as Bulls face off against Florida.
