Leading rusher for Cowboys Sanders completed 15 of 26 passes for two touchdowns with an interception to go along with a team-leading 62 rushing yards on 10 carries in Saturday's 28-23 win over Tulsa.

Impact Sanders needed a little time to get back in to the thick of things, but was able to help Oklahoma State put 21 points on the board in the fourth quarter. He was the team's leading rusher and was without his top receivers in Tay Martin and Braydon Johnson. He'll need to have a big game when the team plays at Boise State next week.

Impact Sanders has been back in practice this week, setting the stage for his season debut after he was sidelined for the opener while in COVID-19 protocols. The junior signal-caller completed 62.8 percent of his passes in each of the last two years and will look to improve on his 14:8 TD:INT ratio over nine games last season.

Impact Sanders' absence doesn't figure to hold him out for more than a couple of weeks but will likely result in Shane Illingworth getting the first start of the season. Next week against Tulsa could become a bit more interesting if he's unable to gain clearance by then.
