Impact Angeli is firmly ensconced as the backup quarterback. The junior has seen time in four games this season completing 11-of-20 pass attempts for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Angeli could very well see more time in the next contest against a one-win Florida State squad on Nov. 9.

Impact Angeli came in late in the fourth quarter for a series with the Irish ahead by 25 points. The junior would need an injury to starting quarterback Riley Leonard to get more playing time. Angeli played well in the 40-8 win over Oregon State in the Sun Bowl last December.

Impact It was the first appearance for the junior since the 40-8 win over Oregon State in the Sun Bowl last December. In that game, Angeli was 15-of-19 for 232 yards and three passing touchdowns. If the Notre Dame offense does a repeat on Sept. 21 against Miami (Ohio), Angeli could be under center in the second half. He would need an injury or extended poor play by quarterback Riley Leonard for him to regain the starting role.

Impact The sophomore signal caller threw a pair of touchdowns in relief against FCS Tennessee State earlier in the season. Against Pittsburgh Angeli hit Cooper Flanagan on a 19-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
