Impact Brooks matched his season-high with 31 carries which propelled him to his fifth 100-yard rushing performance of the season. Unfortunately, he had his second lost fumble of the season which paired with QB Jake Strong's three interceptions. While Texas Tech successfully moved the ball down the field against BYU, they failed to compete because of the turnovers. Brooks and the Red Raiders are off next week before playing TCU on Nov. 2.

Impact Brooks has recorded at least four catches in four straight games and has double-digit carries in three of those contests. He's receiving plenty of opportunities, yet has eclipsed 100 total yards in just one game and has only two touchdowns over that span. He continues to split duties with SaRodorick Thompson in a pass-first offense. Texas Tech will play at Oklahoma State next week.

Impact Brooks notched his first touchdown reception in his career. He's been a big part of the passing game with at least five targets in each of the Red Raiders' last three games. He was out-touched in the run-game with SaRodorick Thompson rushing for 70 yards and a score on 17 carries. It appears that Texas Tech will stick to the committee approach in the backfield which makes it difficult to pinpoint which back to play for fantasy purposes at Kansas State next week.

Impact Brooks and the Red Raiders' rushing game had no chance against the experienced NC State defense. However, fantasy managers should take notice of how involved Brooks has been in the passing game with 10 catches for 78 yards on 11 targets in his last two games. If he can pair that production with some rushing attempts, he's viable for fantasy line-ups. Texas Tech will host Texas in their Big 12 opener next week.

Dealing with knee injury Brooks has been dealing with a knee injury and will miss the Red Raiders' upcoming scrimmage, LubbockOnline.com reports.
Impact Brooks has banged up his knee in fall camp, but he should be back on the field soon. The athletic trainer believes that Brooks should be ready for Texas Tech's season opener against Murray State. Brooks is the team's leading running back and rushed for 568 yards and seven touchdowns last season, so getting him healthy is of chief importance for the team.
