Impact Jackson did what was asked of him on a day in which the Hoosiers ran for nearly 200 yards as a team. The redshirt sophomore quarterback connected with receiver Omar Cooper on a 42-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to give Indiana a 14-0 lead before finding the end zone once again on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter, giving the Hoosiers their final score of the game. While it wasn't a perfect day for Jackson as he threw an interception on the opening play of the second half, he did what the team needed him to do in place of the injured Kurtis Rourke. Should Rourke continue to miss time for the Hoosiers, Jackson's next opportunity will come in a road battle against Michigan State.

Impact Jackson filled in for fellow quarterback Kurtis Rourke after the Indiana starter went down with a hand injury late in the first half, coming in essentially for mop-up duty in a game that was well in hand by halftime. The redshirt sophomore quarterback took advantage of his opportunity, throwing for 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the second half while throwing just a single incompletion. With Rourke being officially ruled out for this Saturday's game against Washington, Jackson is the likely candidate to step up into the starting role for the Hoosiers.

Impact It'd been a struggle for Jackson of late, throwing for just 355 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions over his last three games. The redshirt freshman will head to the bench with Brendan Sorsby, also a redshirt freshman, getting the start against Rutgers.

The Tennessee transfer failed to pass for over 100 yards for the first time since taking over the Hoosiers' starting job Week 2, and he also coughed up his first fumble of the season. While the previous three Big Ten signal-callers to face Michigan have all also struggled to keep the ball out of harm's way, Jackson's bottom-of-the-barrel outing leaves little confidence for his production this coming Saturday against Rutgers' defense, which has been solid so far this year.
