Eli Stowers - Shifts to tight end Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher said Sunday that Stowers has been moved from quarterback to tight end ahead of training camp, Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle reports. Impact The Aggies could revisit moving Stowers back to quarterback at some point later in 2021, but with only Haynes King and Zach Calzada in legitimate contention to replace NFL-bound starter Kellen Mond under center, the true freshman will change positions in an effort to gain playing time in his first year in College Station. Stowers' size (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) and athleticism should help him in the transition, but he'll still be hard pressed to find consistent snaps at tight end behind Jalen Wydermyer, who tallied 46 receptions for 506 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore in 2020.
