Impact Ivey struggled massively in the first half Saturday as he completed just 38 percent of his 21 attempts for 54 yards and an interception. He and the 49ers failed to score a point in the first half, so he was replaced at halftime by DeShawn Purdie who led the comeback win. Given the stark difference in Ivey and Purdie's performances, it would not be surprising if Purdie took over Ivey's spot, at least until Max Brown (undisclosed) is back healthy.

However, it was a difficult matchup and he lacks chemistry with much of the offense, so all things considered it's hard to blame him for his lack of production. Impact Ivey did not have a strong end to the season Saturday as he threw two interceptions and failed to throw for 100 yards on 22 attempts. After halftime he was benched for redshirt freshman Steven Johnson. Ivey did not have a good season as he split time with Jalon Jones as he completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 1,263 yards, four touchdowns and ten interceptions, adding three more touchdowns on the ground. Given his poor performance, it would be surprising to see him play a significant role on the 49ers next season.

Impact Ivey saw the vast majority of the work Saturday after Jalon Jones (concussion) left the game in the second quarter. Ivey did not play well though as he completed just 42 percent of his 19 passes for a measly 51 yards. The only upside to his outing was a 12-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter, the 49ers only score of the day. With Jones questionable, Ivey will likely start again Saturday at USF in the regular season finale.

Impact Ivey threw four interceptions -- including a pick-six -- versus Memphis, the same number he had thrown in his previous seven games (137 pass attempts). However, thanks to Hahsaun Wilson's elite rushing, Ivey and the 49ers took the game into overtime where Memphis eventually won the game. Impact Ivey once again split time with Jalon Jones after not playing a snap last week for the first time this season. Jones was injured on the first drive of the game but returned shortly after, and the two split snaps for the remainder of the game. Jones was named the starter heading into the game and it finally seemed like the quarterback competition may be over, but Friday's game showed there is no true resolution in sight. After the game, head coach Biff Poggi said both Ivey and Jones were injured during the game, but did not elaborate any further.
