Impact The Blazers completed all of eight passes for 47 yards in this game. Davis had the most catches and yards among receivers. It's impossible to tell if that means anything in a game like this, though.

Impact Stanley was the leading receiver in this game for the Blazers, which should tell you all you need to know about their offensive struggles down in Athens. Next week against North Texas should be much easier.

Impact With how bad UAB's offense looked in this game, this qualifies as a success for McBride. He got the most touches, which seems to indicate he is the lead back, which bodes well for him.

Tyler Johnston - Terrible in Athens Johnston went 6-for-14 for 39 yards and three interceptions against Georgia on Saturday.

Impact OK, so these are brutal numbers. That being said, Georgia held Clemson without a touchdown at a neutral site. The Bulldogs might have the best defense in the nation. It will all be much easier from here.

Impact The UAB offense is completely revamping its offense this season outside of the quarterback position. There is opportunity abounding for everybody. Johnson-Sanders made a case for more targets going forward with a 46-yard touchdown in this game. Of course, next week UAB is playing Georgia. It might take another week before we can see if Johnson-Sanders indeed builds on this.

Trea Shropshire - Opens season with big game Shropshire caught five passes for 128 yards and a score against Jacksonville State on Wednesday.

Impact Shropshire came out of nowhere in the Conference USA title game in 2020 by notching five catches for 180 yards and a score. That felt like a fluke, but now Shropshire has opened this campaign with another big game.

Dewayne McBride - Coughs up two fumbles McBride rushed 12 times for 53 yards against Jacksonville State on Wednesday.

Impact As a true freshman in 2020, McBride wowed by rushing for 439 yards and four touchdowns in a mere 47 carries. However, after averaging 9.3 yards per carry last year, he averaged 4.4 yards per carry against an FCS team to open the campaign. Here's hoping it's just offseason rust.

Impact For years, Spencer Brown was the go-to back for the Blazers, but for the first time since the program returned to action they need a new lead back. DeWayne McBride was thought to have the edge, but in this game Brown got two more carries. Perhaps more importantly, he rushed for 25 more yards.
