Impact Bentley broke free for a long touchdown run, and actually outplayed starter Henry Parrish in the process. Bentley had just 62 rushing yards on the season prior to this outing, though. Parrish should remain the starter in two weeks against Oklahoma.

Impact By contrast, fellow running back Henry Parrish rushed 14 times for 165 yards and four touchdowns for the game. It will be interesting to see how the carries are divvied up against better competition at Wake Forest next weekend.

Impact 2023 proved that Bentley being at "full go" has its upside at the highest level of competition. That year was his second with Mississippi, and he significantly improved compared to 2022. Last year saw Bentley log 95 carries for 540 yards (5.7 averaged per carry) and record five scrimmage touchdowns, every one of those numbers improvements compared to his 2022 season.

Impact Bentley will use his last season of collegiate eligibility remaining. The running back logged 627 scrimmage yards (540 rushing and 87 receiving) and five touchdowns during 2023. 2024 has great potential to be his best year, especially if Quinshon Judkins does not withdraw from the transfer portal and no elite RBs sign with Mississippi before regular-season games begin again.
