Impact Zeon will get the start at tight end for the Rebels as they take on Idaho State this Saturday. The 6-foot-4 senior compiled six receptions for 46 yards across three games last season.

Impact Wilson was sidelined with an undisclosed issue for most of last year, but the junior running back will be active for the season-opener. Wilson totaled 29 rushing yards on seven carries last season.

The Rebels' quarterback situation is unsettled heading into the season with Doug Brumfield and Harrison Bailey listed as co-starters, however.

Impact The Louisville transfer has locked in a prominent role on his new team and will be the lead back for the start of the season. Robbins, a big back at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, has seven carries for 51 yards and a touchdown to his credit in three collegiate games. He is expected to be spelled by Courtney Reese in the Rebel backfield.

Impact UNLV has had a lengthy quarterback battle this offseason and it will continue into the season as both Bailey and Brumfield will likely play in the opener. Whichever quarterback performs better could influence the decision on the starter when UNLV returns to action Sept. 10 against California. As for the season opener, the likelihood of Bailey and Brumfield splitting time means that there could be a cap on their respective upsides for fantasy purposes.

Impact UNLV's quarterback battle will carry into the season with Brumfield and Tennessee transfer Harrison Bailey listed as co-starters. Brumfield threw for 320 yards and added another 109 yards on the ground with four total touchdowns in a three-game sample last season. He completed just 43.6 percent of his passes, however, and will need to be more efficient to stay in the mix for playing time. Given that UNLV is hosting an FCS opponent, it would not be surprising to see Brumfield and Bailey have a fairly even playing time split Saturday.

Harrison Bailey - Falls behind in QB battle Bailey is listed behind both Doug Brumfield and Cameron Friel on the depth chart following spring, Steve Cofield of ESPN Las Vegas reports.

Impact Bailey was considered part of a three-way battle for the starting job entering spring ball but appears to be behind the two others after the session. A transfer from Tennessee, Bailey was a four-star recruit coming out of high school, but he was unable to gain a foothold with the Vols and doesn't appear to be in a prime spot to take the reins for the Runnin' Rebels either.

Impact Friel was in a three-way competition for the starting job to open spring but appears to be part of a two-way battle following the session, with Harrison Bailey falling behind. In nine games for UNLV last season, Friel completed 62.4 percent of his pass attempts for 1,608 yards and a 6:11 TD:INT ratio.

Impact The reigning Mountain West Freshman of the Year is locked in what is by accounts a fierce quarterback competition. Friel had highs and lows in 2021, as he was thrust into the starting role and forced to start eight games. That experience should prove valuable for him in this position battle. Fellow sophomore Doug Brumfield looked shaky at best in two starts, completing less than 50 percent of his passes. Tennessee transfer Harrison Bailey has limited SEC reps in several appearances in 2020. The competition should come down to some form of Friel vs. Brumfield, the two most familiar with the offense.

Impact The Tennessee transfer is settling into a three-man race to be the next quarterback for UNLV, joining Cameron Friel and Doug Brumfield. Bailey was a four-star recruit coming out of high school but a coaching change in Knoxville along with Hendon Hooker's return to UT were catalysts for Bailey's transfer decision. He may be the most talented of the bunch but Bailey is short on in-game experience at this level. Spring practice should help generate a pecking order between Bailey, Brumfield and Friel but a final call on the job may not come until summer.
