Cameron Rising - Underwent offseason surgery Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said Wednesday that Rising underwent knee surgery this offseason but should still be ready for the 2023 season opener, Josh Newman of The Salt Lake Trib... Impact Rising dealt with a lingering knee issue over the second half of the season due to an injury he sustained versus USC in mid-October. However, the junior signal-caller only missed one game due to this issue and returned for the final six games of the season. He was then forced out with an unspecified lower-body injury during the loss to Penn State in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 2. While it was never confirmed whether this was related to his previous knee issue, this offseason procedure should help clear things up heading into the 2023 season opener versus Florida on Sept. 2. Either way, it will still be worth monitoring the quarterback's status throughout spring ball and into summer practice sessions.
