Brenden Brady - Returning to UTSA Brady announced via his personal Twitter account Monday he'll utilize his additional year of eligibility and return to UTSA for the 2022 season.

Impact Brady said in December he wouldn't be back for a fifth season, but he's changed his mind and will instead be back for the Roadrunners. He's been stuck behind Sincere McCormick on the depth charter over the past three years but is now poised to head UTSA's backfield in 2022.

Jaylon Lott - Out due to injury Lott is dealing with an undisclosed injury, JJ Perez of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact The running back was one of many ball-carriers that was named by head coach Jeff Traylor on Thursday when he mentioned the number of injuries that UTSA is dealing with. Lott played in two games in 2021, rushing the ball seven times for 19 yards. With Kaedric Cobbs (knee) done for the season, Lott could challenge for the starting job this season.

Impact With UTSA replacing 67 percent of its carries from a year ago, the coaching staff is taking a look at new candidates to fill the backfield void. Williams, a receiver to begin his career, saw some reps with the running backs along with Kadric Cobbs and JUCO transfer Tye Edwards. Williams has the frame of a third-down back at 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds but with plenty of offseason to go, he could have a chance to work himself into a role.

Kaedric Cobbs - Sees first-team reps in spring Cobbs was working with the first-team offense during the opening spring practice session Monday, JJ Perez of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact UTSA is replacing workhorse Sincere McCormick and veteran backup Brenden Brady, so 67 percent of the carries are up for grabs. Cobbs has played sparingly through his first two seasons with 14 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown. He appears to have an early edge on playing time but again, there is the vast majority of the offseason still to go for him to solidify that role. Per Perez, junior college transfer Tye Edwards was also in the mix with the first team during Monday's practice. Regardless, Cobbs needs to be on the radar in deeper formats as spring practices get into full swing.
