Impact Donaldson is no longer in concussion protocol, though the running back cannot return until this weekend at the earliest. The freshman leads the team in rushing yards this season with 389. His next chance to return is Oct. 22 against Texas Tech. Tony Mathis Jr. and Justin Johnson Jr. split the starting running back spot last week, combining for 66 rushing yards on 22 carries.

CJ Donaldson - Won't play versus Baylor Donaldson (concussion) has been ruled out for the team's Oct. 13 contest against Baylor, Mike Asti of WVSportsNow reports.

Impact Donaldson was carted off the field during Saturday's game against Texas and has since been diagnosed with a concussion. His next chance to suit up will come Oct. 22 against Texas Tech. In his absence, Tony Mathis, Justin Johnson and Jaylen Anderson are candidates for increased roles.

Kaden Prather - 11 targets in loss at Texas Prather grabbed eight catches for 40 yards and a touchdown on a season-high 11 targets in Saturday's 38-20 loss at Texas.

Impact Prather has at least six catches in four straight games and was able to add his second score of the season against the Longhorns. He's been a sneaky good fantasy receiver with 5.6 catches on 6.2 targets per game. While he remains behind Bryce Ford-Wheaton on the depth chart, he's seeing enough work in West Virginia's passing game to be in starting line-ups. West Virginia is on a bye next week before playing Baylor on Oct. 13.

Bryce Ford-Wheaton - Eight catches in loss Ford-Wheaton hauled in eight catches for 93 yards on 13 targets in Saturday's 38-20 loss at Texas.

Impact Ford-Wheaton was able to record his third game with double-digit targets in the 2022 season. After opening the season with a pair of scores in the first two games, he has yet to return to the end-zone. With an average of 12 targets per game, it's only a matter of time before he gets his next touchdown. Fantasy managers will have to be patient as West Virginia is on a bye next week before hosting Baylor on Oct. 13.

Tony Mathis - Rushing score against Longhorns Mathis rushed for 24 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries while also grabbing a six-yard catch in Saturday's 38-20 loss at Texas.

Impact Mathis was able to record his third touchdown of the season despite averaging just 2.0 yards per carry. It's worth noting that CJ Donaldson was forced out of the game with a head injury. If Donaldson is forced to miss time, Mathis will split carries with Justin Johnson who is another impressive young back for the Mountaineers. West Virginia is on a bye next week before hosting Baylor on Oct. 13.
