Commits to Minnesota Pyron has committed to Minnesota, Tony Liebert reports.

Impact Pyron only spent a few days in the portal before committing to the Gophers. He has two more years left of college eligibility. A dual-threat under center, Pyron posted a 5:7 TD:INT in three starts in 2024. He should add depth under center for Minnesota.

Expected to enter portal Pyron is expected to enter the transfer portal, Max Olson of The Athletic reports.

Impact Pyron has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining, and he will look to use at least the first one elsewhere. Pyron's expected portal entry comes after a 2024 season still alive for Georgia Tech, a campaign that saw him improve his statistical output somewhat before he got benched again.

Benched in loss to VT Pyron completed 10 of 22 passes for 76 yards and one interception during Saturday's 21-6 loss against Virginia Tech. He also had five rushes for 10 yards.

Impact After getting off to a poor start against Va Tech Pyron was benched for Aaron Philo. Philo didn't fair all too much better in his appearance so there is no clear outlook as to who will get the ball moving forward.

Draws start with King out Pyron will get the start with Haynes King out once again, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Pyron started last week against Notre Dame with King out, and threw for 269 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He proved capable as a starter, but he'll need to cut down on the turnovers this week against the Hokies.

Tough day in loss to ND Pyron was 20-for-36 passing for 269 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 31-13 defeat versus Notre Dame. He also had 13 rushes for 45 yards.

Impact Pyron racked up yardage and managed to find the end zone in the loss to Notre Dame however he threw two costly interceptions capping his output slightly.

Impact Pyron came in to relieve Haynes King in the blowout win over VMI. Pyron made things look easy finding the end zone three times on nine total attempts.

Impact Pyron had not logged any touchdowns since 2022. But when the Yellow Jackets were on Florida State's goal line for their first drive, they decided to use him instead of Haynes King. Pyron lined up in shotgun formation and ran straight ahead for a touchdown.
