Late charge comes up just shy Koepka finished in a four-way tie for second place after shooting a one-under 69 in the final round of the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. Impact Koepka came into the week in very uncharacteristic form. He was able to feed off the vibes as defending champion and took command of the tournament early with a first-round eight-under 62. Friday and Saturday were not quite as good, but he still came into the final round just three shots back of the lead. Koepka and Justin Thomas would prove to be the two it would come down to in the end. An ugly bogey at the par-5 16th appeared to end Koepka's chances, but he drained a 40-footer for birdie on the difficult par-4 17th. The Florida State product would need a birdie at the par-4 18th to send it to a playoff, but those thoughts ended as soon as he pulled his tee shot into the water. Koepka probably won't care much about this, but a T2 was enough to get him inside the top-100 in the FedExCup standings with the playoffs quickly approaching. He led the field in SG: Approach and GIR percentage, so he has to feel a lot better heading to the PGA Championship next week where he will look to three-peat.
