Impact Hoffman was trying to give leader Sepp Straka something to think about after starting four-under through his first eight holes. That all really feel apart with a triple-bogey on the par-3 13th hole, however. It was a disappointing situation, but not indicative of how he played throughout the rest of the week. Hoffman filled it up on the greens and showed that he can still be competitive at age 48. He had five top-12 finishes last year and this T5 finish is a great way to get some momentum rolling in 2025. He will be eager to get back home and tee it up at the Farmers Insurance Open next week. Hoffman has 26 previous starts in the event.
