Finishes strong McCarthy shot a four-under 66 at the final round of The RSM Classic to finish tied for 25th place.

Impact The RSM Classic was McCarthy's first even since late August, as he's missed time due to a torn hip labrum. The 31-year-old came into Sunday's final round tied for 34th place but played well, birdieing four of his final 13 holes to finish T25. McCarthy helped himself out throughout the weekend by avoiding major mistakes, finishing with the 16th-fewest bogeys (six). He's now made the cut in four consecutive events and will look to continue building on these strong performances.

Impact McCarthy played through a torn hip labrum while closing out his summer with a T26 at the BMW Championship in late August, but he's now slated to make his first appearance of the FedExCup Fall this week at Sea Island where he placed T5-T46-T10 the past three years.

Impact Although reports came out during the tournament that McCarthy was dealing with a torn labrum in his left hip, he showed no signs of being slowed down with three rounds of 68 or better en route to the top-10 result. In his usual form, he was led by his short game as he gained 8.9 strokes around the green and putting combined for the week. McCarthy sits 30th in the FedExCup Standings as he looks to qualify for East Lake for the first time.
