Runner-up at Copperhead Thomas closed with a final round five-under 66 at the Valspar Championship, finishing one shot behind champion Viktor Hovland. Impact Thomas started the day two shots off the lead and had a three-under bogey-free front-nine and took a two-shot lead after making his seventh birdie of the day on the par-3 15th hole. However, he struggled on the 'Snake Pit', bogeying two of the closing three holes and was passed by Hovland to lose by one. Thomas gained shots in every strokes gained category for the week, notably ranking third in putting. The veteran has had a strong start to the year with four top-10s across eight events.
