Receives special invite to Masters Hojgaard accepted a special invitation to compete in the 2025 Masters Tournament, Augusta National Golf Club Chairman Fred Ridley announced Wednesday. Impact The Masters has a long history rewarding international players who otherwise would not get into the field with an invitation if deemed deserving. LIV Star Joaquin Niemann was also given a special invitation on Wednesday. Hojgaard made waves at the Masters last year when he was in contention all week, and even led the tournament in round three, before eventually fading to T16. Hojgaard was ranked outside the top 50 in the OWGR at the end of 2024, and would have had to either win a PGA Tour event before the Masters in April, or make his way back inside the top 50 the week before tournament week. The Dane will no longer have to worry about that and he will get to compete alongside his brother Rasmus Hojgaard, who is ranked inside the top 50.
