Wins Race to Dubai for fifth time McIlroy won the Race to Dubai after his T22 finish at the DP World Tour Championship on Sunday. Impact McIlroy did not have his best stuff in the finale, but he didn't need to after a season in which he captured Rolex Series titles at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and the Genesis Scottish Open. McIlroy already had a big enough gap on second place Jon Rahm to seal his fifth Race to Dubai title, leaving him behind only Seve Ballesteros (6) and Colin Montgomerie (8) for most European Tour Order of Merit titles. McIlroy has had a lot of stress going on off the golf course and with him now being off the PGA Tour's policy board, McIlroy will be able to take a much needed break and get ready for 2024 where he will hope to end that long major drought. McIlroy has already confirmed that he will begin the 2024 season in Dubai first at the Dubai Invitational Jan. 11-14 then to defend his title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic Jan. 18-21. McIlroy's first PGA Tour start in 2024 will come Feb. 1-4 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which is the second of eight signature events next season.
