Runner-up in Vallarta Valimaki closed with a final round two-under 69 at the Mexico Open, finishing two shots behind champion Jake Knapp. Impact Valimaki began the day with a four-shot deficit but was able to tie the lead following an eagle on the par-4 seventh hole. The momentum stalled from there, however, as he played his next six holes in one-over. Heading into the closing par-5 18th hole trailing by two, any hopes were dashed when Valimaki's tee-shot found the penalty area. Nevertheless, it was an excellent week for the 25-year-old rookie, who hadn't previously posted a top-20 on the PGA Tour.
