Poor showing in Denver Scheffler carded an even-par 72 on Sunday to finish in a share of 33rd place at the BMW Championship. Impact Scheffler just did not have his best stuff this week. He battled some back tightness in Thursday's opening round, but it seemed to be fine after that. This was the first time Scheffler has lost strokes in an event since the 2022 Scottish Open. He did rank second in SG: Off-the-Tee, but ranking 45th in SG: Approach and losing 5.46 strokes was quite shocking. Scheffler and caddie Ted Scott clearly did not have a feel for the altitude adjustment. All that being said, Scheffler will still enter the TOUR Championship as the No. 1 seed with a two-stroke lead over No. 2 seed Xander Schauffele. Scheffler has come into East Lake in a similar position the last two years and failed to get the job done. You know he wants to put a period on what has been a truly outstanding season.
