Will skip The Sentry Fleetwood has elected to skip The Sentry, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.

Impact Fleetwood was one of 64 qualifiers for the PGA Tour's opening event of the 2025 season, but he will join Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry in skipping the first of eight Signature Events, along with Scottie Scheffler who had to withdraw due to a hand injury. Fleetwood had only qualified for The Sentry one previous time when they allowed the Top-50 in the FedExCup standings from the prior season to play in 2024. The Sentry used to be a winner's-only event from the prior year, and of course Fleetwood is still seeking PGA Tour win No. 1. The Englishman has committed to the Hero Dubai Desert Classic Jan. 16-19, so that is likely where he starts his year before coming back over to the PGA Tour. Fleetwood closed 2024 on the heels of nine straight top-25 finishes.

Another strong showing this fall Fleetwood closed with a five-under 67 on Sunday to finish in a share of sixth place at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Impact Fleetwood got off to a red-hot start to the week by posting a 10-under 62 in round one. He was unable to keep pace after that, but a good round on Sunday meant this was his fourth straight top-12 finish on the DP World Tour since the end of the FedExCup season. Fleetwood will look for an eighth DP World Tour victory next week in Dubai, a place he won at back in January at the Dubai Invitational. Fleetwood owns top-10 finishes at the Earth Course in four of the last five seasons.

Another strong showing at Dunhill Links Fleetwood finished in solo third place at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship following a five-under 67 in the final round.

Impact Fleetwood made 23 birdies and an eagle this week, but it wasn't enough to catch fellow countryman Tyrrell Hatton. Fleetwood will likely rue the double-bogey he made at the par-4 17th at Carnoustie in round one. He is still chasing that elusive first victory in the Dunhill Links, but his overall record is spectacular. Fleetwood now has six top-five's and 11 top-25 finishes in 13 starts at the event. He has finished top-25 in six straight starts overall, including back-to-back third place finishes in Spain and Scotland. We'll likely see Fleetwood back at the DP World Tour Playoffs.
