Out for remainder of 2024 Hovland will sit out the remainder of 2024 due to an undisclosed injury, Golfweek reports.

Impact The injury wraps up a disappointing 2024 for Hovland in contrast to his 2023, when he won the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup. He will not participate in the DP World Tour's tournaments, including those currently scheduled for Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

T12 in FedExCup defense Hovland finished in a share of 12th place after a five-under 66 in the final round of the TOUR Championship.

Impact Hovland didn't have the season he would have wanted after winning the FedExCup in 2023. He was able to advance all the way to East Lake thanks in large part to a T2 finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Hovland seems to better understand his golf swing now than he did earlier in the season and will look to close 2024 strong on the DP World Tour.

Impact Bolton's post confirms Hovland's entry in the upcoming BMW Championship. Impressively, Hovland finished in a tie for second place during the recent Fedex St. Jude Championship.

Nearly makes it three straight playoff wins Hovland closed with a four-under 66 on Sunday to finish in a tie for second place at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Impact Hovland hasn't had the season he has wanted to this point, but again he turned it up in the opening playoff event to finish in a share of second and go from 57th to 16th in the FedExCup standings. Hovland will actually probably be a little disappointed, however, considering he briefly held the outright lead at 16-under following back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16. He then made bogey at 17 and then missed a short putt for birdie on 18 while Matsuyama bounced back with birdies at 17 and 18 to take a two-shot win. Hovland ranked fifth in SG: Off-the-Tee and fourth in SG: Approach for the week. That has to be encouraging going to the BMW Championship next week where he will try to repeat, albeit at a different golf course this year.
