Dealing with rib injury Schauffele has been bothered with a right rib injury and is not making any full swings, Todd Lewis of Golf Channel reports.
Impact According to the report, this injury dates back to late 2024. Schauffele played through the injury at The Sentry and finished T30. He was slated to play The American Express last week but decided to withdraw to rest his ribs. Schauffele is also skipping his hometown event at Torrey Pines for the first time and not playing with his TGL team this week. When he returns appears very much up in the air. The second signature event of 2025 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is next week.

Impact Schauffele joins Scottie Scheffler (hand) as top players that had to withdraw their prior commitments at The American Express. Unlike Scheffler, however, it's unclear why Schauffele elected to withdraw this week. The two-time major winner last year finished T30 at The Sentry before teeing it up in the opening match up of TGL last week for New York Golf Club. Schauffele would normally play the Farmers Insurance Open next week in his hometown of San Diego, but his TGL team is also scheduled to play next Tuesday. The Farmers Insurance Open begins next Wednesday and he is not apart of the early entry list. Nevertheless, hopefully it's nothing serious and we will see Schauffele again soon.

Closes strong Schauffele fired a six-under 67 at the final round of The Sentry to finish 17-under and tied for 30th place.
Impact Schauffele, the No. 2-ranked golfer in the world, ended The Sentry on a high note, birdieing 12 of his final 36 holes to tie for 30th place. The American's performance was bolstered by his impressive performance off the tee, recording the third-longest average driving distance (293.5 yards) and the sixth-longest drive of the entire tournament (428 yards). Although Schauffele has now finished outside of the top 25 in back-to-back tournaments, he previously tallied five consecutive top-10 finishes, including a victory at The Open Championship. He'll aim to regain his form as the 2025 season progresses.
