Takes BP, looks healthy Hicks (wrist) took batting practice during the Yankees' team workout Sunday, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports. Impact The Yankees haven't formally declared that Hicks will be ready for Opening Day, but given that reports earlier in the offseason indicated that he was expected to be cleared for full baseball activities by December or January, the 32-year-old appears likely to avoid a stint on the injured list to begin 2022. Of course, Hicks has never showed the ability to stay healthy for long during his career, so fantasy managers shouldn't draft him with the expectation that he'll be a mainstay in what projects to be a strong lineup for the entire 162-game slate. Moreover, questions remain about whether he'll ever be able to recapture the 27-home run power he displayed during the 2018 season now that he's since had Tommy John surgery in October 2019 and left wrist surgery last May.
