Back in action Friday
Judge (lower body) is starting in right field and batting third Friday against the Tigers.
Impact
The 29-year-old sat out the last two days for maintenance purposes with some lower-body soreness, but he's back in the lineup Friday and is expected to play all three games versus Detroit. Judge is 5-for-16 with one homer, two doubles, two RBI and one run over his past five games.

Why is it so hard to trust that Aaron Judge's load management is caution, not concealment by the Yankees?
The vagueness of how the Yankees handle Judge is meant to protect him. Instead, it seems to be making these scenarios look more suspicious.

Expected to play throughout weekend
Judge (lower body) is expected to play all three games in the Yankees' upcoming series against the Tigers, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
Impact
Judge has missed the last two games due to lower-body soreness. Manager Aaron Boone said that Judge should be back in the lineup for Friday's series opener against Detroit, and he also said that he expects the right fielder to play Saturday and Sunday. Judge has slashed .263/.385/.500 with five home runs and 10 RBI in 21 games this year.

Gets maintenance day
Judge (lower body) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Impact
Manager Aaron Boone noted after Tuesday's win that Judge has been managing some lower-body soreness of late and would likely need a day off, so the star outfielder's absence from the lineup a day later shouldn't come as a major surprise. The Yankees will presumably check back in with Judge early Thursday to see how he's feeling before deciding whether he'll be ready to rejoin the lineup for the series finale that afternoon. Per Erik Boland of Newsday, Boone noted that Judge would still be available off the bench Wednesday if there was "a big enough spot" for him to make an appearance as a pinch hitter.

Impact
The 29-year-old is managing some general soreness with the Yankees eight games into a stretch of 13 straight days with a game, so he's due for a day off. Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk during Tuesday's contest before being removed for the bottom of the ninth inning. He's likely to be withheld from the lineup for one of Wednesday's or Thursday's games in Baltimore.
