Both he and Giancarlo Stanton are looking to get back into a rhythm after extended stays on the injured list, and the organization intends to ease them into action down the stretch. "Obviously Giancarlo is down today, then I'll have probably Aaron down tomorrow," manager Aaron Boone indicated prior to Wednesday's contest. "Then they'll go back-to-back days the next time, then into three and four in a row. We'll just kind of build it that way."

To IL for three weeks Judge (calf) is heading back to the injured list, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.
Impact General manager Brian Cashman told fans on a Zoom call Thursday that the team will have to give Judge twice as long as the first time he was on the IL. He missed 11 days the first time around, so he may only return with a week left in the season, if he is able to return at all. There were reports the last time he was on the IL that he was feeling 100 percent, but this Grade 1 calf strain is clearly something that he has trouble playing through.

Undergoes MRI Judge (calf) underwent an MRI on Thursday and could return to the injured list, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Impact Judge aggravated his calf injury Wednesday and was forced to exit the second game of the doubleheader. The results of his MRI aren't yet known, but manager Aaron Boone confirmed that he aggravated the same injury that he dealt with earlier in the season. Judge returned from the injured list Tuesday, but Boone said that he could require another stay on the IL.

Impact The 28-year-old went 1-for-3. His calf tightened up while running the bases, and he was removed during the sixth inning. It was Judge's first game action after he missed over two weeks with a right calf strain, so it's a concerning development for the Yankees. According to Lindsey Adler of The Athletic, manager Aaron Boone said a return trip to the injured list is possible, but specifics won't be known until Judge is further evaluated Thursday.
