Aaron Loup signs with the Angels as the Mets bullpen takes a major hit After an outstanding season for the Mets, lefty reliever Aaron Loup is signing a two-year contract with the Angels.
Signs with Angels Loup signed a two-year, $17 million contract with the Angels on Monday.
Impact Loup had a dominant season with the Mets in 2021 and registered 16 holds while posting a 0.95 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 56.2 innings across 65 appearances (two starts). Several of the Angels' late relievers became free agents following the 2021 campaign, so the southpaw is a candidate to serve in a high-leverage role in 2022.

Registers sixth win Loup (6-0) got the win in Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Phillies, allowing a hit and a walk with one strikeout in 1.1 innings.
Impact Loup was brought in to record the final out of the seventh and induced a groundout after walking Bryce Harper to load the bases. New York took the lead in the bottom of the inning and Loup stayed in to pitch a scoreless eighth.
