Friday's start postponed
Sanchez won't start against the Rockies as scheduled Friday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Impact
The contest will be made up via a twin bill Saturday, with Sanchez likely to be on the mound for one of those games. Joan Adon was Saturday's regularly scheduled pitcher and should start the other contest.

ROTOWIRE
Tallies third win
Sanchez (3-3) earned the win during Sunday's 8-2 victory over Milwaukee, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks with one strikeout in five innings.
Impact
Sanchez was staked to an eight-run lead early and kept Milwaukee off the board until the fifth inning, when Tyrone Taylor tagged him for a two-run home run. The 29-year-old topped out at 89 pitches but hasn't missed many bats with no more than four strikeouts in any of his six starts and has now alternated decisions in every turn. He'll carry a 7.16 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 13 strikeouts into a start slated to come against Colorado next weekend.

Struggles in brief outing
Sanchez took the loss after allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out two over 3.2 innings Monday against the Marlins.
Impact
Sanchez was spotted an early 1-0 lead after Washington pushed across a run in the first inning, but the right-hander surrendered four runs in the bottom of the second, as six straight batters would reach after retiring the first hitter of the frame. Sanchez has yet to work six full innings over five starts in 2022, with his longest outing lasting 5.1 innings his last time out against the Mets.

Cleared to start Monday
Sanchez (hand) is listed as the Nationals' starting pitcher for Monday's series opener in Miami.
Impact
During his most recent start May 11 against the Mets, Sanchez dealt with what manager Dave Martinez called a bone bruise on his non-throwing hand. Fortunately for Sanchez, the injury doesn't look like it'll be anything that affects him in his field, so he'll stay on turn in the rotation for his fifth start with Washington. Through his first four outings, Sanchez has posted a 7.58 ERA and 1.42 WHIP across 19 innings.

Impact
The 29-year-old was struck by a 113-mph comebacker during the sixth inning to end his evening, but he's expected to make his next turn through the rotation Monday in Miami. Sanchez surrendered three runs during the opening frame but otherwise kept New York off the board. He threw 51 of his 76 pitches for strikes and tied his season low with one strikeout.

ROTOWIRE
Surrenders seven runs
Sanchez (1-2) allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four across 4.1 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Rockies.
Impact
Sanchez was handed an early two-run lead, though he coughed that up quickly by giving up a three-run homer in the second inning. He also allowed three of the first four batters he faced to reach base in the fifth, all of which eventually came around to score. Sanchez has now allowed at least three earned runs in each of his three starts while failing to work more than five frames on any occasion. He owns an 8.56 ERA with a 9:3 K:BB across 13.2 innings on the season.

Registers first win
Sanchez (1-1) got the win during Friday's 14-4 victory over the Giants, allowing three runs on six hits with four strikeouts in five innings.
Impact
Manager Dave Martinez opted to give Sanchez a second turn through the rotation, and the 29-year-old responded with a respectable performance in a big win. Most of the damage came on a Jason Vosler two-run home run in the second and Sanchez exited with the score at a narrow 5-3 before Washington exploded in the later innings. Sanchez may have showed enough to receive another start that would most likely come against Colorado next week.

Sanchez was placed on unconditional release waivers by the Giants on Friday.

Loses 40-man spot
Sanchez was designated for assignment Sunday.
Impact
Sanchez lasted two innings as an opener, allowing one run on four hits and a walk in Saturday's contest versus Milwaukee. He has a 3.06 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 26:15 K:BB across 35.1 innings. If he ends up with Triple-A Sacramento, he'll likely remain stretched out as a starter in case he's needed on the big-league roster later in the season.

Brief outing in Saturday start
Sanchez allowed a run on four hits and a walk over two innings Saturday against the Brewers. He did not record a strikeout.
Impact
Sanchez was making a spot start in place of the injured Anthony DeSclafani (shoulder) and allowed an RBI double to Willy Adames in the third inning before turning the game over to the bullpen. Sanchez was making just his third appearance for the Giants since returning from a biceps injury and threw 46 pitches, 29 of them for strikes. Even if he stays in the rotation for any length of time, Sanchez isn't yet built up enough to be a fantasy contributor.

Impact
Sanchez returned from the injured list last week and has made two appearances as a multi-inning reliever. He's allowed a run on four hits and four walks while striking out two in five innings, and he'll make a spot start in Milwaukee in place of Anthony DeSclafani (shoulder).

Logs two innings in return
Sanchez allowed a run on three hits and struck out one in two innings during Friday's 9-6 loss to Houston.
Impact
The right-hander missed nearly three months with biceps tightness, and he battled a blister issue during his rehab assignment. Sanchez's first outing since he was activated from the 60-day injured list Thursday was a mixed bag. He's expected to fill a multi-inning role out of the bullpen going forward. He's posted a 3.26 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB through 30.1 innings this year.

Reinstated from 60-day IL
Sanchez (biceps) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Thursday.
Impact
Sanchez began a rehab assignment in early July, and he had been building up his pitch count across his recent appearances. However, the right-hander will take on a bullpen role for now since the Giants don't have an open spot in the rotation. Sanchez's fantasy value will be limited while he's serving as a middle reliever, but he could be an option to fill in as a starter if needed.

Impact
Though Sanchez has been building up his pitch count for starting duty during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento, the Giants don't have a spot open for him in the rotation and seem to be viewing him as a depth option at this time. Sanchez hasn't helped his case for getting another look as a starter by posting a 6.65 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 5.4 K/9 in 21.2 innings over his seven rehab outings. The right-hander appears ready to return from the IL, but since he won't be in store for a meaningful role out of the bullpen once reinstated, the Giants aren't rushing to get him back on the active roster.
