Picks up nine out save Slegers allowed one run on four hits while striking out a batter across three innings as he earned the save against the Phillies on Saturday.

Impact Slegers allowed three straight singles upon entering the game in the seventh as Bryce Harper was able to trim the Rays' lead to 4-3. The 28-year-old was able to quiet their bats the rest of the way as he converted his second save of the season while shutting the door on the Phillies' 2020 playoff aspirations. Slegers owns a 3.46 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and a 19:5 K:BB across 26 innings and should be a reliable arm out of the bullpen for the playoffs.

Solid in long relief Slegers came on in relief of starter Ryan Yarbrough in a loss to the Nationals on Tuesday and allowed an earned run on three walks over 3.1 innings.

Impact The right-hander was called on when Yarbrough was unable to get out of the third inning and responded admirably, preventing manager Kevin Cash from having to go too deep into his bullpen. Slegers has allowed at least one earned run in each of his three September appearances after entering the month with three consecutive scoreless efforts, but he still sports an impressive 0.87 WHIP and solid 14:5 K:BB across 17.1 innings and has allowed just one home run over that span.
