Impact Garcia wasn't even part of the Rangers' roster until his contract was selected April 13, but he's started every single game between then and now. He's clearly earned the everyday role, hitting .295/.336/.590 through 113 plate appearances, and he's shown no signs of slowing down, posting a 1.225 OPS over his current nine-game hitting streak. He still needs the occasional rest, however, so David Dahl will move to center field in his absence Tuesday to get him a breather.

Impact Garcia has clobbered fastballs since joining the Rangers. Over his first 26 games, he was thrown fastballs 57.1 percent of the time, and he put the ball in play 36 times at an average exit velocity of 94.7 mph, resulting in a .351 average against the pitch. Meanwhile, his average was .071 against off-speed offerings. As such, Garcia has been working daily with pitching machines to adjust to what he and the team can see coming. The key for Garcia is to stay in his hot zone and avoid chasing.

Impact Garcia drove in a pair of runs on base hits in the third and sixth innings but his biggest hit of the day was a three-run blast to left center that gave the Rangers plenty of breathing room with a 7-2 lead in the fifth. Sunday's was his fourth multi-hit performance in the last six games as he's now slashing .297/.339/.604 with nine home runs, 26 RBI and 16 runs scored. He's been one of the bigger surprises over the first month with him only appearing in 24 major league games before this year.
