Impact Alexy made all five of his appearances with the Rangers in 2021 as a starter or primary pitcher out of the bullpen, but after failing to find much success out of the Round Rock rotation earlier this season, he was recently moved into a relief role. The 24-year-old right-hander is thus in line to join the Rangers as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen, though manager Chris Woodward is unlikely to immediately entrust Alexy with high-leverage work.

Impact Alexy's lone blemish on the evening was surrendering a two-run home run to Max Stassi in the second inning. The 23-year-old had been hit really hard his last two times out before Tuesday's start, allowing 10 runs in just seven innings of work so it was nice to see him bounce back. Impact Alexy was outstanding yet again, as he's given up just two hits and no runs over 11 innings since his debut at the end of August. The Angels put a bit of pressure on him in the second after having two on and nobody out but Alexy was able to maneuver his way around the Angels' hitters and avoid any damage. The 23-year-old hasn't had a large sample size but his performances so far should allow him to at least make another start. Unfortunately, he'd be lined up to face the Astros next week.
