Impact Alexy made all five of his appearances with the Rangers in 2021 as a starter or primary pitcher out of the bullpen, but after failing to find much success out of the Round Rock rotation earlier this season, he was recently moved into a relief role. The 24-year-old right-hander is thus in line to join the Rangers as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen, though manager Chris Woodward is unlikely to immediately entrust Alexy with high-leverage work.

Impact Alexy failed to make Texas' Opening Day rotation and has struggled as a starter for Triple-A Round Rock this year with a 6.43 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 74:39 K:BB across 70 innings. The 24-year-old will now move to the bullpen in hopes of straightening things out.

He's not a lock to make the rotation, so guys like Allard will also build up innings during the truncated spring training.

Impact Alexy's lone blemish on the evening was surrendering a two-run home run to Max Stassi in the second inning. He allowed just two more hits over the next couple of frames before his day was over after throwing 91 pitches. The 23-year-old had been hit really hard his last two times out before Tuesday's start, allowing 10 runs in just seven innings of work so it was nice to see him bounce back. Alexy isn't currently lined up to make another start this season and will finish the year with a 4.70 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 17:17 K:BB over 23 innings.

Impact Alexy was outstanding yet again, as he's given up just two hits and no runs over 11 innings since his debut at the end of August. The Angels put a bit of pressure on him in the second after having two on and nobody out but Alexy was able to maneuver his way around the Angels' hitters and avoid any damage. The 23-year-old hasn't had a large sample size but his performances so far should allow him to at least make another start. Unfortunately, he'd be lined up to face the Astros next week.
