Rejoins Bronx Bombers The Yankees recalled Abreu from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

Impact Even though he was optioned to Triple-A two days earlier, Abreu is eligible to rejoin the Yankees after the team placed Domingo German (shoulder) on the injured list in a corresponding move. Nestor Cortes is the most likely candidate to take over German's spot in the rotation, but Abreu will give the Yankees a fresh arm out of the bullpen in the meantime.
