Impact Bregman played consecutive nine-inning games with Triple-A Sugar Land before returning to Houston to workout with the big-league club Tuesday. Based on Baker's update, it sounds like the infielder could be activated as soon as Wednesday's series finale against the Royals. Bregman has slowly been working his way back from a right hamstring injury that has sidelined him since mid-June, and he should assume the every day job at third base once reinstated.

Impact Bregman initially began the rehab assignment July 26 and appeared in seven games for the affiliate before being mysteriously shut down Aug. 7. After a nearly two-week layoff, Bregman returned to action Friday for Sugar Land and went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI while playing seven innings at third base. Houston could look to have Bregman play a full game in the field Monday, and if all goes well, he could make his return from the 10-day injured list as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday. Bregman has been on the IL since June 17 with a strained quadriceps before picking up a right hamstring injury earlier in the rehab assignment.
