Impact Cobb threw four clean innings, only running into trouble in his final frame when he surrendered a solo home run to Jackie Bradley, then consecutive doubles to account for his two earned runs. While he wasn't particularly deceptive, Cobb stayed out of trouble by recording nine groundball outs. Cobb has bounced back to start the campaign, earning a 3.73 ERA across six starts and 31.1 innings. He's currently projected to take his next turn through the rotation Friday at Toronto.

Jolted by Jays Cobb (1-2) took the loss Monday as the Orioles fell 7-2 to the Blue Jays, coughing up five runs on eight hits and a walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out four.
Impact While this was Cobb's longest outing yet in 2020, there weren't many other positives to take away from this performance. The right-hander threw 57 of 88 pitches for strikes, and the big blow against him was a three-run blast in the third inning by Randal Grichuk, the fourth homer Cobb has served up in only 26.1 innings. He'll carry a 3.76 ERA into his next start Saturday, at home against the Red Sox.

Impact Cobb mowed down the first six batters he faced, with only one ball leaving the infield. While he was brushed up a bit in the third inning, the only major damage was done on a solo home run by Jay Bruce to lead off the fifth frame. Cobb threw 71 pitches -- 49 of which went for strikes -- but was able to work efficiently by generating 11 groundouts. He has maintained a 2.75 ERA across 19.2 frames, though his 17:8 K:B suggests trouble may on the horizon. Cobb is scheduled to take his next turn through the rotation Sunday against the Nationals.

Inefficient in no-decision Cobb didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rays, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out two.
Impact The right-hander got enough run support to pick up the win, as the O's launched three homers on the night, but Cobb couldn't last long enough to qualify -- he needed a whopping 87 pitches (53 strikes) just to record 12 outs. Through two starts to begin the season he has an encouraging 2.89 ERA and 8:3 K:BB over 9.1 innings. Cobb will face a tough challenge in his next outing, however, at home against the Yankees on Wednesday.
