Impact Pallante kept the Guardians off the board through five innings before finally coughing up a run in the sixth. It was his second straight seven-inning performance after failing to complete six frames in each of his previous three outings. He registered a 13:3 K:BB while allowing only one run and earning a pair of wins in his last two starts. Pallante lowered his season ERA to 3.71 with a 90:48 K:BB through 116.1 innings. He's scheduled to wrap up his 2024 season with a start in San Francisco this weekend.

Impact Pallante was stellar on Monday as he shut down the Pirates over seven innings, his second career start of seven or more shutout innings. Pallante also recorded a career high nine strikeouts in the process. The 25-year-old has been a serviceable option for the Cardinals since being inserted into the rotation on May 29. He's pitched to a 3.62 ERA in 99.1 innings as a starter this season.

Impact Pallante has issued five walks in back-to-back starts, and he's allowed multiple walks in each of his last nine starts. Despite the command troubles, Pallante has maintained a 4.13 ERA with a 1.40 WHIP and 77:45 K:BB across 102.1 innings over 26 appearances (17 starts) in the majors this year. If the Cardinals stick with a six-man rotation into next week, Pallante is projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates.

Struggles against Brewers Pallante took the loss Monday against Milwaukee, allowing five runs on five hits and five walks with three strikeouts across five innings.

Impact Pallante issued a season-high five walks Monday and failed to pitch into the sixth inning after doing so in four straight starts. It was his first time allowing multiple home runs in an appearance this season, giving up a three-run shot to Willy Adames in the first and a two-run homer to Rhys Hoskins in the fourth. Since the start of August, Pallante has a 4.11 ERA with a 22:17 K:BB across 35 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Reds next time out.

Takes no-decision Wednesday Pallante allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Wednesday.

Impact Pallante has allowed no more than two runs in each of his last four starts. In that span, he's given up seven runs (six earned) with a 17:10 K:BB across 25.1 innings. He's been effective as a starter this year, pitching to a 3.50 ERA over 82.1 innings across his 14 starts. Overall, he has a 3.80 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 68:35 K:BB through 92.1 innings. Steven Matz (back) may be an option for the Cardinals' rotation next week, but the team has considered moving to a six-man rotation in September, so Pallante may still be used as a starter to finish the campaign.

Sharp in sixth win Pallante (6-6) picked up the win in Friday's 6-1 victory over the Twins, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out five.

Impact It looked like it might be a short night for Pallante when four of the first five Minnesota batters reached base in the second inning, but the right-hander put out the fire and then didn't let another runner get into scoring position, retiring the last 13 batters he faced. Pallante has a 3.31 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 24:14 K:BB through 35.1 innings since the All-Star break, but with Lance Lynn (knee) closing in on a return from the IL, his time in the rotation could be drawing to a close. If he gets another turn, Pallante lines up to face the Padres at home next week.

Impact Pallante held his own against a deadly Dodgers lineup despite allowing the leadoff man to reach in four of his seven innings of work. The right-hander surrendered one run in the first and another in the fifth on a solo shot from Shohei Ohtani, but was able to hang on for his fifth win over the season and his first since June 28 against the Reds. Impact Making his first big-league start since 2022, Pallante was sharp Wednesday, blanking Cincinnati over six innings in the winning effort. The 25-year-old right-hander has made nine appearances out of the bullpen in St. Louis this year, struggling to a 6.30 ERA over 10 innings, though he was solid in four starts with Triple-A Memphis, allowing just four earned runs in 16.1 innings.
