Chosen by Nationals Young was selected by the Nationals in the first round of the 2021 Rule 5 draft Wednesday, JJ Cooper of Baseball America reports.
Impact Young spent parts of the last two seasons in the majors with the Diamondbacks, and he slashed .209/.298/.484 with six home runs, 15 RBI and 13 runs across 58 big-league appearances last year. He'll likely be in the mix for a major-league roster spot with his new club heading into the 2022 campaign.
