Starts throwing program Sanchez (neck) was spotted Tuesday throwing in the outfield with a team trainer, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Impact The light catch session marks the first known throwing activity for Sanchez since he was placed on the injured list April 11 with a cervical nerve impingement in his neck. Sanchez's lack of progress over the past month prompted Washington move him to the 60-day IL last week, so he won't be eligible to make his 2022 debut with the big club until at least early June.

Transferred to 60-day IL Sanchez (neck) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.
Impact Sanchez has been dealing with a neck issue since shortly before his first scheduled start of the year. According to Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com, the veteran right-hander recently underwent an MRI which confirmed he's still dealing with the nerve impingement in his neck. Sanchez will need a full spring training once cleared to throw, so it's no surprise to see that he'll need over a month before he's ready to return to game action.

Impact Sanchez has been doing strength and conditioning work on his neck and back recently, but the fact that he isn't yet throwing suggests that he'll likely be forced to miss at least one more turn through the rotation. If he ultimately misses another start, Josh Rogers should continue to take his place in the rotation.
