Coming back to majors as pitcher Cleveland will select Gose's contract from Triple-A Columbus ahead of Monday's doubleheader with the Royals, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports. Impact A once-promising outfield prospect while coming up through the Blue Jays' system, Gose slashed .240/.309/.348 across 1,252 plate appearances with Toronto and Detroit from the 2012 through 2016 seasons before converting to pitching. The transition initially proved rough, but Gose began generating better results in 2019 and was awarded an assignment to Triple-A coming out of spring training. The 31-year-old lefty has been especially effective since rejoining Columbus in mid-August following a stint at the Tokyo Olympics with Team USA; over his final 12 appearances with the affiliate, Gose gave up one run while striking out 22 over 14 innings. Blessed with a fastball that occasionally touches the triple digits, Gose will get a chance to make a case for a spot in Cleveland's 2022 bullpen during the final two weeks of the current season.
