Pavin Smith - Homers in win Monday Smith went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, two walks and three total runs in a 9-5 victory against the Royals on Monday.
Impact Kansas City exploded out of the gate with three first-inning homers, but the Diamondbacks responded with a pair of long balls of their own in the bottom of the frame. Smith hit the first of those long balls, crushing a ball 444 feet to right field to net two runs. The homer was Smith's second in his past three games and fifth overall this season.

Zach Davies - Exits with leg injury Davies left Monday's start against the Royals due to an apparent lower leg injury, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.
Impact Davies took a line drive off his lower leg and limped off the field with a trainer. Prior to the injury, he allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out two across 3.2 innings. He will not factor into the decision, as the game was tied upon his exit. It's not clear whether Davies will be available for his next turn through the rotation.
