Gabriel Moreno - Doesn't believe injury is seriousMoreno (hand) doesn't believe his injury is serious, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
ImpactMoreno was hit in the hand by a 95.5 mph pitch during Saturday's Cactus League game, but the backstop said the pitch got him in the knuckles. He also said that he doesn't believe that he will undergo X-rays, but that could change if the hand swells up on him. Moreno should be considered day-to-day for now, and he appears to have avoided a serious injury.

Christian Walker - Back in actionWalker (hip) is starting at first base and batting cleanup Saturday against the Guardians.
ImpactHe was removed from Monday's game after a hit-by-pitch and took a few days to get right, but the injury was apparently quite minor. Walker should be Arizona's everyday first baseman this season.

Ryne Nelson - Best outing yetNelson allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out six over 4.1 innings in Friday's spring start against Colorado.
ImpactThe battle for the final rotation spot is heating up late in camp. Prospect Brandon Pfaadt has been the most consistent throughout, but he would have to be added to the 40-man roster which could sway the decision toward Nelson. His spring got off to a rocky start, but the right-hander cobbled together a couple of strong outings the past week. The competition has evolved since the start of camp with Drey Jameson and Tommy Henry each topping the group on iterations of the projected roster from MLB.com's Steve Gilbert, but it's now looking more like Nelson or Pfaadt.

Kyle Lewis - Strengthens roster bidLewis went 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBI in Friday's spring game against the Rockies.
ImpactLewis leads the Diamondbacks with nine RBI in the Cactus League after getting a late start due to leg issues. He's looking to nail down a fifth outfield spot with Pavin Smith also in the mix. Each have posted results worthy of making the roster, but the decision likely comes down to which one manager Torey Lovullo thinks he'll use the most. From that perspective, Lewis' right-handed bat might give him an edge in an outfield that has three lefty-batters at the top of the depth chart.
