JT Chargois - Not yet throwingThe Marlins announced Monday that Chargois (oblique) has resumed upper-body plyometric activity, but he remains on a no-throw program, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactChargois has been on the shelf since April 10 with a right oblique strain. Though he hasn't been shut down from activity entirely, the fact that he's not yet throwing presumably takes an April return from the 15-day injured list off the table.

Sixto Sánchez - Checks out fine after sim gameThe Marlins announced Monday that Sanchez (shoulder) "felt good" after pitching in an extended spring training game over the weekend, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ImpactSanchez is steadily building up from right shoulder surgery, and barring any setbacks, he looks like he should be ready to make his first appearance in affiliated ball since 2020 in the upcoming weeks. He'll throw a bullpen session Wednesday before likely facing hitters in another simulated game this weekend.

Steven Okert - Needs two more rehab outingsOkert (groin) is scheduled to make a pair of rehab appearances at Triple-A Jacksonville on back-to-back days this week before being activated from the 15-day injured list, Jordan M...
ImpactOkert's ability to pitch on consecutive days will be the final hurdle he needs to clear before the Marlins are comfortable adding him back to the big-league bullpen. The 31-year-old should profile as one of the Marlins' top left-handed options out of the bullpen after he logged a 2.98 ERA over 51.1 innings while gathering 19 holds in 2022.

Max Meyer - Extends throwing distanceThe Marlins announced Monday that Meyer (elbow) has increased his throwing distance off flat ground to 90 feet, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ImpactIt's another marginal step forward for Meyer in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, as the right-hander had been limited to playing catch from 75 feet over the past two weeks. Meyer still appears to be at least a couple weeks away from completing his flat-ground throwing progression before he's cleared to start throwing off a mound.

Avisaíl García - Available off benchMarlins manager Skip Schumaker said Garcia (wrist) will be available off the bench for Monday's game against the Giants, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
ImpactThough he'll be out of the lineup for the series opener after hurting his right wrist when it was drilled by a pitch in Sunday's 5-0 loss to the Diamondbacks, Garcia looks like he'll avoid a stint on the injured list. Schumaker noted that Garcia was able to take batting practice in the cage Monday without issue, so the 31-year-old could be called upon to pinch hit, if necessary.

Johnny Cueto - Ready for extended side sessionCueto (biceps) is scheduled to throw a 35-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ImpactCueto will presumably throw all of his pitches during the side session, and if all goes well, he could be cleared to face hitters later this week. The veteran right-hander will likely need multiple minor-league rehab starts or simulated games to build up for starting duties, so he appears to be trending toward a May return from the 15-day injured list at this stage.
