Merrill Kelly - Expected to make next startKelly (undisclosed) is expected to start Saturday or Sunday against the Mets, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.
ImpactKelly was placed on the injured list for an unspecified reason Tuesday, but manager Torey Lovullo said that the right-hander is expected to make his next start. In his last three starts, Kelly has posted a 3.24 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 16.2 innings.

Jon Berti - Returns to bench roleBerti is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactBerti's time as a regular in the Miami lineup appears to be over after Brian Anderson (oblique) was reinstated from the injured list Tuesday. Anderson took over as the Marlins' third baseman in Miami's 9-3 win in the series opener, snapping a streak of 11 straight starts at the position for Berti. With Isan Diaz and Lewis Brinson seemingly locked into everyday roles in place of the Marlins' other two injured regulars -- Jazz Chisholm (hamstring) and Starling Marte (rib), respectively -- Berti may only be in store for a couple of starts per week.

Garrett Cooper - On bench for second straightCooper is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactCooper picked up eight straight starts -- including seven in right field -- from April 23 through Sunday, but he's been on the bench for both of the Marlins' first two games of their series with Arizona. Though manager Don Mattingly had previously been able to fit Cooper into the outfield by shifting Adam Duvall over to center field, Lewis Brinson has instead emerged as the primary option in center of late. Duvall and Corey Dickerson look poised to serve as the Marlins' main corner outfielders against right-handed pitching, so Cooper may be stuck in a short-side platoon role for the time being.

Chad Wallach - Stuck in No. 2 roleWallach remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactThough top catcher Jorge Alfaro (hamstring) hasn't played since April 20, Wallach remains stuck in the No. 2 role behind the plate. Rather than Wallach, veteran Sandy Leon has seemingly emerged as the Marlins' preferred backstop. Leon will pick up his third consecutive start Wednesday.

Sandy León - Getting bulk of work behind plateLeon will start at catcher and bat eighth Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactLeon will be behind the dish for the third game in a row and appears to have emerged as the team's primary backstop while Jorge Alfaro (hamstring) remains on the injured list. Through his first 10 games with Miami, Leon is batting .267 with two runs, no extra-base hits and no RBI.
