Jazz Chisholm Jr. - On base three times WednesdayChisholm went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
ImpactBumped down to sixth in the order with lefty Madison Bumgarner set to start for Arizona, Chisholm took advantage of Bumgarner's early ejection to extend his hitting streak to seven games. The 24-year-old continues to look like one of 2022's breakout stars, slashing .329/.380/.657 through 20 contests with four homers, five steals, 13 runs and 19 RBI while showing improvement in both his strikeout rate (24.1 percent, a 4.5 percent drop from 2021) and walk rate (8.9 percent, a 2.2 percent rise).

Braxton Garrett - Lands on ILGarrett has been placed on the 7-day injured list with Triple-A Jacksonville due to an impingement in his left shoulder, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reports.
ImpactThe southpaw last pitched for Jacksonville on April 26 and struck out seven batters over five strong innings, but the issue apparently cropped up after the start. The 24-year-old's injury could cost him another chance at proving himself in the Miami rotation, as top prospect Max Meyer is now in line to get the next opportunity if it arises while Garrett is sidelined.

Max Meyer - Could get look in Marlins rotationMeyer could be promoted to join the big-league rotation in the near future, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reports.
ImpactWhile the Marlins have had some internal discussions about using their top pitching prospect in the big-league bullpen, where his fastball-slider combination could be dominant, Meyer's success at Triple-A this season -- as well as the struggles of Elieser Hernandez in the Miami rotation -- make it more likely he will debut as a starter. The 23-year-old right-hander has a 1.71 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 33:6 K:BB through 26.1 innings over five starts for Triple-A Jacksonville, while Hernandez has stumbled to a 6.66 ERA and 1.44 WHIP through five starts for the Marlins, including a poor outing against Arizona on Wednesday. While no switch appears imminent, further struggles from Hernandez could accelerate the timeline for Meyer to make his Miami debut.

Josh Rojas - Rehabbing at RenoRojas (oblique) has played two games as part of a rehab assignment for Triple-A Reno. He's 2-for-5 with four walks, a double, two RBI and a stolen base.
ImpactRojas served as the designated hitter Tuesday then third base Wednesday, each time playing nine innings. The Diamondbacks plan to welcome him back at some point during a homestand that kicks off Friday against the Rockies.

Ketel Marte - Runs hit streak to fiveMarte went 2-for-2 with two walks, a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-7 win over the Marlins.
ImpactMarte is still stuck below .200, but he extended a hit streak to five games, during which he's 6-for-18 with five extra-base hits, three walks and six runs scored. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo has moved him around the order in effort to jumpstart the bat, and his recent run batting sixth against right-handers appears to have helped.

Corbin Martin - Throws bulk reliefMartin allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out three over four relief innings in Wednesday's 8-7 win over Miami.
ImpactMartin didn't wake up knowing he'd be the bulk-inning pitcher Wednesday, but he was needed after Madison Bumgarner was ejected after the first inning. Forced to warm up on short notice, Martin walked two and gave up a single to the first three batters faced, and the first two runners eventually scored. The right-hander settled in after that, providing critical relief and allowing Arizona's bats to impact the game. It was the fourth time in five outings that Martin's thrown two innings or more.
