Clayton Beeter - Dominant finish at Triple-ABeeter logged a 1.69 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 27 strikeouts in 16 innings over his final three starts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
ImpactThe best Triple-A hitters have mostly been promoted to the majors at this stage of the season, but it was still an excellent way for Beeter to close his age-24 season. Beeter's 93-mph fastball (touches 97 mph) and sweeping slider have been an excellent bat-missing duo -- he also sparingly throws quality third and fourth pitches in his curveball and changeup -- but his command and control have held him back at times. At the very least, it would seem Beeter could help a big-league bullpen at some point next season, and he will need to be added to the 40-man roster this offseason if the Yankees want to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.

Ketel Marte - Enters as pinch hitterMarte (Illness) walked as a pinch hitter in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Yankees.
ImpactMarte walked for Jordan Lawlar in the eighth inning, loading the bases before Corbin Carroll drove in two with a single to give Arizona a brief lead that was wiped out in the bottom of the frame. Marte stayed in the game to play second base. He'd been dealing with a stomach bug that made him unavailable Sunday, but Monday's usage suggests he'll return to the starting lineup Tuesday, when Arizona will be in Chicago to start a three-game set with the White Sox.

Alek Thomas - Delivers two in lossThomas went 1-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Yankees.
ImpactThomas delivered two-out, two-run double in the first inning to give Arizona an early lead. The outfielder has scuffled during the month of September, going 13-for-67 (.194) with a .579 OPS, but the inconsistent Thomas has driven in 13 runs over 21 games this month. That's the most RBI he's had in any month this season.

Kevin Ginkel - Doesn't have it in lossGinkel (9-1) was tagged with a blown save and the loss to the Yankees on Monday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks. He struck out one.
ImpactGinkel, who had thrown 28 pitches the day before, entered to begin the eighth inning with Arizona clinging to a 4-3. That's normal terrain for Ginkel, who worked the same inning Sunday and has emerged as a reliable setup arm during the second half. Unfortunately for the Diamondbacks and their playoff hunt, he didn't have it Monday. The Yankees loaded the bases on two singles and a walk with one out, before Ginkel walked in the tying run then allowed the winning run on a sacrifice fly. An additional run was charged to him when Everson Pereira greeted Miguel Castro with a single. Ginkel had not allowed a run in eight consecutive outings and sported a 1.82 ERA since the All-Star break entering Monday.
