Aaron Fletcher - Claimed by GiantsFletcher was claimed off waivers by the Giants on Thursday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
ImpactFletcher was designated for assignment by the Pirates last week but will land a spot with the Giants less than a week later. The southpaw will report to Triple-A Sacramento after he posted a 1.45 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 18.2 innings over 14 Triple-A appearances to begin the year.

José Álvarez - Transferred to 60-day ILAlvarez (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.
ImpactAlvarez was initially diagnosed with left elbow inflammation July 7 when he was deactivated, but his move to the 60-day IL a week later is an indication that season-ending surgery is a strong possibility, per Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. At the very least, Alvarez will be sidelined until early September as a result of the transaction. The Giants claimed reliever Aaron Fletcher off waivers from the Pirates on Thursday, and he'll fill Alvarez's spot on the 40-man roster.

Wilmer Flores - Homers in Wednesday's winFlores hit a solo home run as a pinch hitter in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
ImpactFlores tied the game at 3-3 with his eighth-inning blast. That allowed him to extend his hitting streak to five games, a span in which he's gone 9-for-20 (.450) with four long balls, nine RBI, five runs scored and three doubles. The infielder is up to a .254/.340/.452 slash line with 13 homers, 50 RBI, 45 runs scored and 17 doubles in 82 contests overall. Flores has started to infringe on Thairo Estrada's role at second base, which occasionally bumps Brandon Crawford from the lineup at shortstop against southpaws.

Camilo Doval - Collects win WednesdayDoval (3-4) allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the win Wednesday over the Diamondbacks.
ImpactDoval kept the game tied at 3-3 in the ninth inning, and Brandon Crawford hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the frame. This was Doval's first scoreless outing since June 28, though including Wednesday he's made just four appearances since that date due to the Giants' recent struggles. With Jake McGee designated for assignment and Tyler Rogers working more in the middle innings lately, Doval appears entrenched as the closer in San Francisco. He has a 3.19 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 45:16 K:BB through 36.2 innings while adding 12 saves, two holds and two blown saves in 38 outings.

Tyler Rogers - Seeing more versatile usageRogers' last two appearances have been longer than one inning.
ImpactEntering the season, Rogers was expected to be part of the high-leverage mix. It appears his role has evolved a bit, as he's more often entered games in the middle innings (or even earlier in bullpen games). The change has worked out well -- he's allowed runs just once in his last eight appearances, posting a 1.80 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over his last 10 innings. For the season, the submariner has a 4.25 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB across 42.1 innings while picking up 11 holds and a 1-3 record in 40 appearances. With less late-inning work and poor strikeout numbers, Rogers is unlikely to carry much fantasy appeal.
