Josh Bell - Getting night offBell is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.
ImpactBell will take a seat for the first time since joining the Diamondbacks, giving way to Pavin Smith at first base. Bell had started 16 consecutive games for Arizona, going 15-for-64 (.234) with four homers. However, he's 0-for-14 in his last four games.

Pavin Smith - Recalled from Triple-AThe Diamondbacks recalled Smith from Triple-A Reno on Monday.
ImpactSmith has hit well for Arizona in 2024 when provided with opportunities, putting up an an .801 OPS with three home runs in 68 plate appearances. However, he would not appear in line for regular playing time during this stint.

Ketel Marte - Lands on IL with sprained ankleThe Diamondbacks placed Marte on the 10-day injured list Monday with a sprained left ankle.
ImpactMarte initially injured the ankle more than a week ago and has been in and out of the lineup since then. He aggravated the injury during a pinch-hit appearance Sunday versus the Rays and the Diamondbacks have finally decided to make a roster move with the 30-year-old. Kevin Newman and Blaze Alexander should fill in at second base while Marte is sidelined.

Thyago Vieira - Clears waiversThe Diamondbacks outrighted Vieira to Triple-A Reno on Aug. 2.
ImpactThough Vieira remains a member of Arizona's organization after clearing waivers earlier this month, he has yet to pitch for Reno since being cast off the 40-man roster. Reno placed him on its restricted list Aug. 9 for unspecified reasons.
AUGUST 19ROTOWIRE
Joe Jacques - Clears waivers, stays in organizationThe Diamondbacks outrighted Jacques to Triple-A Reno on July 30.
ImpactJacques ended up sticking around in the Arizona organization after he cleared waivers upon being designated for assignment July 26. Since reporting back to Reno on Aug. 3, Jacques has given up five runs (three earned) while striking out seven across five innings over five relief outings.
AUGUST 19ROTOWIRE
Michael Pérez - Thriving with new organizationPerez, who signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on July 31, is slashing .500/.556/.733 with five-extra base hits through his first eight games with Triple-A Reno.
ImpactArizona brought Perez aboard in late July with the expectation that he would provide catching depth to the upper levels of the minors, but a promotion to the big leagues isn't out of the question while the Diamondbacks' top backstop, Gabriel Moreno (adductor) remains on the injured list without a definitive return date. For now, the Diamondbacks have been leaning on prospect Adrian Del Castillo as their new No. 1 catcher and have gotten strong results from him thus far, but if he or backup Jose Herrera were to fall victim to an injury, Perez or Andrew Knizner could be next in line for a call-up.
